Ladies and gentlemen of the press and fellow compatriots, RDP wishes to once again remind you that the ruling SWAPO party has lost vision and direction. Instead of steering this Nation and country in the right direction of social upliftment, economic development and prosperity, the leadership of SWAPO party is pre-occupied with self-enrichment schemes of stealing state money be it N$100 million ODC; N$30 million SSC; N$120 million Teko Trading and now N$20 million  toilets in Omusati region.

IT IS TIME THAT NAMIBIAN WOMEN SAY“ENOUGH IS ENOUGH TO POLITICAL /TRIBAL WITCH-HUNT IN THIS COUNTRY”

As the Anti-Nazi activist German Pastor Martin Niemöller (c.1946) once said, “First they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak out - because I was not a Jew.  Then they came for the Communists, and I did not speak out because I was not a Communist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist.  Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak for me!” We, in the RDP League of Women do not want to blame ourselves for not speaking out against the apartheid-like oppressions spearheaded by some Swapo Party leaders against some sections of citizens of this country, especially the vulnerable group, in our society, the women.

Ekandjo should first and foremost realize that the people of this country are in a serious predicament of poverty, unemployment (±51%), homelessness and loss of hope. Instead of Jerry Ekandjo providing alternative solutions to the plight of those needy people, he is ridiculing them. This is very sad. Ekandjo must know that people have been waiting for change in their lives for the past 20 years. When your stomach is full every day, 20 years is a short time, but when it is empty, 20 years is a very long time and Jerry should be aware of this.

The RDP has taken note of the contents of SWAPO party’s press conference at the SWAPO headquarters on Wednesday 6th January, 2010.
The purpose of the said conference in our view is to indirectly incite the public to revolt against the High Court for having instructed the ECN to give the opposition parties access to some of the election materials. It is therefore no wonder that it (SWAPO party) is condemning the press release issued by the High Court on the contents of opposition parties submission to the High Court, regarding their findings on some of the election materials as apparently adding more confusion as it could allegedly be interpreted that the high court has declared the elections as null and void.
